Krisis Euro Bisa Bikin Asia Timur Loyo

KOMPAS.com - Slowly but surely, Kiris euro will hit economies in East Asia region. In this area, the ten ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar, plus China, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan would have hampered the pace of growth.

Problems in the European region, the ADB said, could turn into a global economic disaster and led to the world economic crisis.

Note the latest from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) showed up to the end of next year, growth in the region just stuck at 7.2 percent rate. This is a correction from the previous estimate of 7.5 percent as the release in September 2011.

As the AP and AFP on Tuesday (06/12/2011), ADB said the decline in forecast growth occurs mainly due to slack demand in external markets. Problems in the European region, the ADB said, could turn into a global economic disaster and led to the world economic crisis. "The effect will override the first phase of the countries that are heavily dependent on export markets," said Iwan Azis, head of ADB's Office of Economic Integration Zone.

"The second effect will unfortunately directly on the entire country that is growing in the East Asian economic region," added Iwan.

inflation

With this kind of background ADB recommends that the countries in the region respond to the immediate, decisive, and together in an effort to prepare for crises.

ADB also warned of the ill-effects of other economic practices such as protectionism. Things like this can result in capital flight and inflation.

However, according to ADB report inflation in the region has passed its peak in most countries. Hence, not predicted a risk of recession in the region.
