Smoky aircraft, Cathay Pacific Flight Cancel

Shanghai - A plane owned by Cathay Pacific airlines canceled flights taking off from the airport of Shanghai, China today. Because of garanya, smoke was detected in the cabin of the aircraft so that all passengers had to be lowered. Three people were injured in the incident.

Cathay Pacific-party states, 351 passengers and 19 crew were evacuated from the Boeing 747. At that time, the aircraft is aimed at Hong Kong was preparing to take off at Pudong International Airport, Shanghai.

"Our preliminary information indicates that the captain ordered the plane emptied because the smoke was detected in the cabin before departure," the statement Cathay as reported by AFP news agency on Friday (09/12/2011).

According to Cathay, the injured only lightly injured.

Shanghai authorities confirmed the plane had been evacuated and the injured were rushed to hospital. But no mention of what caused their injuries.

Currently operating at the international airport have returned to normal. The incident is being investigated. Not yet know the cause and source of the smoke. Cathay party says it was investigating the incident and cooperate with local authorities.
